Who are we?

The initiative is headed by our investor Colin Wilkinson in partnership with 8 other investors who are experienced entrepreneurs and business practitioners. We also call upon a wealth of other leading industry experts and external funds. We offer direct investment and hands-on guidance. We are NOT a business consultancy, and it is not our objective to earn money through fee-based work.

What we do

The fastest-growing aspect of our business is investing in or buying companies that are distressed, then turning them around. We also assist businesses to start-up, and are active in the field of mergers & acquisition.

How does it Work

	Phase 1: Identifying the right businesses These are companies with the following characteristics: Generally trading for more than 2 years and a reasonable proportion of its turnover is from recurring revenue. Turnover between £500k and £4m a year. This has possibly been in decline during the down-turn. May now be trading at a loss and may be having problems with cash flow. Pressure may be mounting from an unmanageable level of creditors.
	Phase 2: Identifying the problem Often the business might be contingently insolvent – that is carrying a lot of debt without a realistic ability to pay it off, and lacking sufficient working capital to continue trading without taking on yet more liabilities. This may be as a result of a build-up of interest on loans and unpaid creditors, or because of a downturn in trade. This is threatening its very existence, and the management team may be under high levels of stress.
	Phase 3: Acquisition and stabilisation In general we take a stake in the business or buy it outright. We then turn the business around by stemming the loss of cash, dealing with any potentially outstanding creditors and creating a stable and calm environment in which the company can comfortably trade.
	Phase 4: Building long-term value Once the business has been stabilised we will seek a long-term partner to help grow it and to realise its long-term potential. This may involve selling shares in the company to a business partner or company in the same, or allied industry.
